Karl Gilbert

Karl is Patchwork’s Senior Youth Worker, appointed in 2025 following the completion of his BAhons in Informal Education at Sunderland University in 2024.

He attended Patchwork as a child, had a friendship group as a youth, then completed a placement for his Gateshead College L3 Sports Science course with us. He fell in love with the “behind the scenes” and volunteered. Karl worked sessionally until a part-time position was available, and then completed his L3 in youthwork before moving on to his degree.
